InFlow Adventure Co's floating sauna in Howe Sound.
InFlow Adventure Co offers a spectacular Howe Sound floating sauna experience, as well as other water-based activities.

Have you ever watched the windfoilers, the sailors, the hydroflyers, and the sauna-goers out on Howe Sound and wanted to be out there too?

InFlow Adventure Co is the local company making those adventurous dreams a reality, and helping locals and visitors alike get out and enjoy this outdoor playground we call home. It’s exactly the kind of Squamish brand that brings together the best of the region, fusing adventure with education, action with relaxation, and enjoyment of the outdoors.

Community Futures Howe Sound has been fortunate to play a small role in InFlow’s journey, so we chatted to founder Andrew Platt about how it all began, what they’re most proud of, what’s next for the company, and more.

How did InFlow Adventure Co get started?

Two mates discussing the huge potential of marine watersports in Squamish and tourism in general. We firmly believe that Squamish should be one of the most talked about marine / winds sports destinations in the world. We also believe in Squamish's potential to be a world-class tourism destination. We hope to help elevate this through offering safe, hands-on experiences that showcase what Squamish is all about.

What is the product or service you’re most proud of?

Tough question. We're really proud of everything we do. But if push comes to shove, it would probably be our Sailing Socials. One of the major reasons we started InFlow was to try and make sailing a little more accessible. Our Sailing Socials are hands-on sailing experiences in small groups (max. 3 people plus the instructor) where you sail on Howe Sound for two hours. Over the years we've welcomed hundreds of people on board.

What do you wish someone had told you when you were starting out in business?

We're lucky to be surrounded and supported by a family/friend group that are all doing entrepreneurial things. With that comes mentorship and advice that prepared us pretty well. But, be prepared to constantly be moulding what you do to best suit what people actually want. Oh, and prepare to write a lot of business proposals and forecasts.

Do you have any fun plans for the business you can share with us?

We're aiming to launch our new destination in Spring 2026. We can't say where yet, but we're very excited about it.

How was Community Futures able to be part of your story?

Community Futures have been pivotal in our story. They have, from the first day we met, been super supportive of what we're trying to achieve. They believe in our long term plan. They have supported us financially but also through mentorship via our regular catch ups.

What’s it like having the coolest job in the world?

Not sure. I think it’s too late for me to become an F1 driver. Ha.

Do you have any other local businesses you particularly admire?

I think we're spoilt for choice in the Sea to Sky. There are a ton of local businesses that are doing epic stuff. But, we wouldn't be here without the support and guidance of our mates who own businesses too. So we'll give them a shout... Pretty Good Painting, Gogglesoc, Outwest Auto, Canadian Coastal, Fareast boats Canada, Community Futures.
