At Community Futures Howe Sound, we’re proud to champion the small businesses that bring creativity, innovation, and connection to our local communities. Every day, we work alongside entrepreneurs to help their ideas grow — offering one-on-one business advice, flexible local financing, and workshops and training to build skills and confidence.
As we celebrate Small Business Week from October 19 - 25, we’re sharing a little more about how we can help, and we’re shining a spotlight on some of the inspiring clients we’ve had the privilege to support.
How the Community Futures Network Supports Small Businesses
Since 1985, Community Futures British Columbia and its 34 member offices have supported entrepreneurs across the province, especially in rural and remote regions. Through the Community Futures Resource Hub, business owners gain access to practical, results-driven tools, including:
High-impact workshops, training, and free webinars.
Guidance from export advisors to help businesses expand into new markets.
Consulting services from a diversified team of subject matter experts.
Buy/sell/ succession services for smooth business transitions.
Targeted supports for Indigenous entrepreneurs.
Flexible financing through the Community Futures loan program.
Emergency preparedness to protect against business disruptions.
Inclusive programs for entrepreneurs with disabilities or who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+.
No matter where you are on your business journey, these supports are designed to help you move forward with confidence.
