Vintage Vibes: Amy Rafferty's Whistler Success Story with Community Futures

The Velvet Underground

Miles ahead of the curve, Amy Rafferty brought vintage to the Whistler in 2018. Her original location was in Function Junction, and she quickly became a hub of community cool, outgrowing her first location and moving her business to the Whistler Village in 2022. She is a vibrant activist, passionate about fashion, human rights, and the environment. If you want to update your look and keep fast fashion out of your local landfill, swing by her store and say hi.

Amy approached Community Futures Howe Sound for some free business advice. From those discussions it became apparent that she could utilize a loan for stock purchases. When the move to Whistler Village came about Community Futures helped fund the improvements to the space.
